Hampton Farms Poker Night!
Hampton Farms is hosting a resident game night in the clubhouse on February 18th! Texas Hold’em will be the main game but you won’t feel left out if euchre or spades is your thing. Refreshments will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Join us from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
We had Euchre night last month, in January. We are now having another gambling type event for February? Two months in a row – back to back? What happened to the non-gambling events that have been twice a month at Hampton Farms for years? I understand if some have requested the gambling events, but can’t they be broken/split up throughout the year? I also noticed only one event for this month, with no reason(s) given. Sorry, I don’t mean to be complaining but I know alot of the community do not go for gambling events.

Hey Anna! Great to see you back on the blogs here! Yeah, I have to agree with you on the events. They aren’t really that appealing to the majority here. However, I know they are between Social Activity Directors at the moment. Unfortunately we don’t have Haven anymore and that’s a great tragidy! You know how many years she served us – heart and soul – and never less than 110%. We’ll dearly miss her, but we wish the next SAD all the best. They certainly have some BIG shoes to fill! Hopefully you’ll get a reply here with some answers to your questions.

It’s nice to see a resident on here viewing all the wonderful things that this blog has to offer. I know many have noticed a change in event genres however, I do know that Hampton Farms is trying to be as accommodating as possible with the requests and suggestions that they have received from residents. I kindly suggest that you too contact the office with your suggestions for future events. I know they are always willing to take all thoughts into consideration. If for some reason they are now only having 1 event each month, it’s even more important now than ever to have your suggestions heard.

I wanted to personally thank you for your interest in the Social Activities at Hampton Farms. I appreciate your concern regarding the number and topics of the events. We have been in a transitional time, as Haven, the previous Social Director, retired at the end of last year. Thank you for your many years of service. We also have had many Office & Service staff changes in the past few months. We are in the process of hiring a new Social Director for this month’s events. We had several residents request Poker Night this past month. The second event for February will be HAMPTON FARMS DAY @ Chipotle. All Hampton Farms residents will be able to receive a free burrito on a specific day towards the end of February. The day has not been announced yet, as we are still working with Chipotle to determine the best way for both parties to have a positive and smooth event. In the future, similar events will definitely be spread out better.
We are always open to ideas for the monthly events. One event will be a Village Green event and the other can be any approved suggestion. We posted a suggestion box inside the office in January, where residents can drop off their ideas. As a result of your feedback, we are also in the process of implementing an online survey, so that we can get an even better feel for what type of events we should be hosting.
