Downtown Rochester Construction
The ever popular Downtown Rochester is under construction, to say the very least. For anyone who has experienced the detours, dirt, and traffic jams, know just how frustrating it is. I personally live and work in Rochester and know my way around the high traffic areas but for those who are “passing through” I highly suggest if you can avoid the construction then by all means, do so! If you have no other choice but to drive through Downtown Rochester then being patient with other drivers and considerate of the construction workers is a must. Time management comes in handy especially for those of you who are always in a hurry and running behind schedule. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination, safely, if your route includes passing through Downtown Rochester.
The 7.6 million dollar project began in mid April of this year and is estimated to be completed sometime in the early fall. The necessary construction will create new waterlines, a safer road, enhanced crosswalk lighting, and more esthetically pleasing surroundings upon completion.
Rochester is my home and I believe I speak for my fellow community members and merchants when I say the several months of construction will be worth the wait. Downtown Rochester is a unique place to shop, dine, socialize, bike ride, walk trails, and more importantly, call home. So whether you live here or you’re just passing through, be sure to be respectful and patient during our makeover to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
