Man swallows diamond ring and then coughs it up

Honestly, do criminals use their brains these days? I think this criminal deserves to be on Tru TV’s World’s Dumbest Criminals after this stunt he tried to pull. The Associated Press released a story that a 23 year old man went to sell a two carat diamond ring worth about $20,000 dollars to Newton’s Jewelry last Thursday in Joplin, Missouri. There was one problem, Newton’s Jewelry received photos of the ring a few hours after the theft occurred so they recognized the stolen ring and called the cops. Don’t criminals know that there have been many advancements in technology and communication throughout the years? The man, trying to think fast, swallowed the ring. When the cops began questioning him he began to cough uncontrollably, coughing up the ring. I am sure the cops are happy that some criminals don’t use any sense because it makes them easier to catch. If this incident was caught on security cameras it will make for some good entertainment too.
